ABOUT the campaign
"For we are God's masterpiece..." Ephesians 2:10
Our mission is to provide free access to therapy services for Black Men in the Twin Cities, for the sole purpose of seeing Black Men be WELL, be WHOLE and be FREE.
Black Men, those who identify as African-American, African, Caribbean, Afro-Latino and/or Biracial are less likely to have access to mental health services and needed medical care than any other race, although they endure more racial discrimination and criminalization than other people in America. This is also the case for Trans Men as well.
It is a vital yet often forgotten form of justice
and reformation of our mental health care system.
are you a therapist?
We are seeking licensed therapists to work with a minimum of one client from the Twin Cities, free of cost for a minimum of eight sessions over three months! The goal is to get 100 therapists (especially therapist of color) to virtually contribute their time and knowledge in the fight for healing justice for our Black Men.
At this time, unfortunately the Campaign for Black Men is transitioning to dissolve due to a lack of funding and limited staff capacity.
However, we do have a comprehensive list of therapists of color, especially those of African descent in Minnesota. Please email us for that resource.
